Multiple by which interest income covers net loss
The Brismo UK Lending Returns Index measures the returns available from tech enabled lending in the UK. Index values are published as an annualised return, measuring what an equal time-weighted exposure to every loan originated by the participating originators would have generated over the preceding 12 month period. The return has been calculated after fees and is expressed net of losses. Index calculations are based on loan level data from:
- Funding Circle
- Market Invoice
- RateSetter
- Zopa

Brismo’s volume indices are a subset of Brismo’s subscription products and provide a snapshot of tech enabled origination volumes across UK, Europe, USA and Australasia. Origination data is either reported directly to Brismo by originators or is sourced from data published online by the originators themselves. The timeliness of the data is therefore not consistent as it may depend on how regularly the originators update their own origination counter.
‘Brismo Verified’ status denotes the platforms that subscribe to our asset performance verification services enabling us to scrutinise loan level detail. For other originators these figures have not been corroborated.
